🏫Inspiring Book Donation Drive at Bhausaheb Vidyalaya, Devgad in Collaboration with IAHV
Bhausaheb Vidyalaya, Devgad, recently hosted an inspiring book donation event, in association with the International Association for Human Values (IAHV)—a global humanitarian organization founded by Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, the visionary spiritual leader behind the Art of Living Foundation.
As part of IAHV’s mission to promote human values through education, the organization generously donated a curated collection of books worth Rs. 50,000 to the school’s library. These books, covering various subjects and available in multiple languages, are designed to benefit both students and teachers, encouraging curiosity, creativity, and character-building.
The event was graced by IAHV representatives Mr. Shirdi S. Lavate, Mr. Vijay Dange, and Mr. Herawade, who were warmly welcomed by the school’s Headmaster, teaching faculty, and students amidst great enthusiasm.
The day began with a tree plantation drive in the school premises, symbolizing growth and knowledge. This was followed by the inauguration of the upgraded library, attended by school staff, students, and members of the Parent-Teacher Association.
The program commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a detailed overview of the initiative presented by Art teacher Mr. Pandhare. Senior teacher Mrs. Park welcomed the guests with traditional honors, and the event was presided over by former Headmaster Mr. Herawade.
During their address, the guests shared valuable insights:
Mr. Vijay Dange highlighted the purpose and global work of IAHV and encouraged students to build a lifelong relationship with books, stating, “Make books your best friends—one day, others will stand in line to read what you’ve written.”
Mr. Shirdi S. Lavate delivered a captivating, poetic speech that left the audience inspired. Described as a “walking library” by many, his presence and words became the highlight of the event.
The aesthetically arranged book display received widespread appreciation, with special credit given to the school’s women teachers for their thoughtful and creative efforts.
The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by senior teacher Mrs. Loke, leaving everyone deeply motivated to embrace the joy of reading and the power of human values in everyday life.
